Narrative Overview: More bills came in from 2022 Pride Event that we paid. We’re preparing to be able to access to our 325k dollar grants for the arts from the city that will allow us to be reimbursed for most of our monthly administrative costs. We are also expecting about $65k profit from the golf tournament. We have invoiced for all the sponsorships for the golf tournament and are awaiting payment.

This month will reflect better numbers once the account receivables that came in from Amazon and Redbull are updated. Those two accounts alone totaled $70k.

I’ve been onboarded by Suzanne and Chris. I’m waiting for the initial budget presented to me which will be presented to the new budget and finance committee.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT 11-2-22

1.Honolulu Pride

Carly and I were introduced to Alaska Air Pride Team, their ERG. We attended dinners, marched in the Honolulu Pride Parade, and made many important connections with Alaska Marketing team. We also attended the Drag Brunch show where we dined with the COO of Alaska. We have received a proposal from Alaska for a 3 year contract doubling their contribution from last year. We are still negotiating with their team and hope to have an announcement soon!

  1. Interpride at Guadalajara

Chris and I attended Interpride along with Marsha who as an Interpride Board member had her expenses covered. We went to several presentations, and I was active in the. Trans Caucus.
Marsha ran for a VP position and SF Pride voted on where future World Prides would be held.
Chris and I had a working dinner with 2 members of the JJLA team. I also discussed JJLA performance with other Prides. Sandra Perez, the ED of New York Pride and I had several discussions concerning our Prides and we will continue to support each other as we did last year when negotiating with the city and police. We also were fortunate to spend time with Michelle Meow and her wife Orowan. Michelle and I discussed the organization and committed to being there for us as we move forward. The most impactful seminar I went to was provided by the chairs of the Oslo Pride. They discussed crisis management as their Pride celebration was marred when two people were killed and many injured by a shooter Friday night of Pride weekend. I have notes and will be better prepared next year if I am at the helm.

  1. Onboarding

Chris and I have sat down with Nguyen, Spring and Robert to discuss their responsibilities as laid out by the bylaws. All three are now actively serving in their roles. I met with the 4 members of the executive committee for our first excom meeting. I look forward to working with them as we move forward.

  1. SF Pride Pro Am and Award Reception

This was our biggest year ever as we made a major improvements to our venue for the Awards.
We held an awesome event at the Fairmont on Friday night. We gave the LGBTQIA courage in golf award to Hailey Davidson. The tournament was once again a complete sell out. We picked up new sponsors and all former sponsors returned. I am waiting on some numbers from First Tee but it looks like we cleared between 65 and 70K after paying our expenses. I so appreciate the board members that attended and worked at the events for us. We look forward to continue growing this special and unique event!

  1. Ken Jones Awards

On 10-20 we held the second annual Ken Jones Awards night at Cityscape at the Hilton! It was the last of 5 events that the staff has handled. Once again, I just have to say thank you as they made all of these events possible. It was well attended, and the night was joyous! The night was capped off by an after party in the Imperial Suite provided by the Hilton. We had no idea that they would be so generous. The joy in everyone’s faces that night will always be in my heart! One note about all of the events. The staff and I believe we need to spread these out a little more. We may discuss this with the board at the retreat.
